Insurance Brokers go Commando for Martha
A group of Insurance Brokers and friends from Pharos Insurance Brokers Ltd have undertaken a 12k Commando Series Challenge in aid of Martha. The team of seven took on The 12k Commando Series Challenge at Hever Castle. The course featured 18 obstacles including water based challenges and lots of mud!
Fergus Martin, New Business Executive says “I can honestly say this was one of the toughest tests of my life, pre-event I was reasonably certain of the fact that fitness would not be an issue, but following the 12 minute beasting at the start disguised as a warm up I started to think differently. This will become one of the most notorious events in time as its reputation grows, the commando series is in its infancy but is far tougher than similar events of its ilk. Once you are plunged in 12 ft. ice cold water fully submerged and you can’t feel your face you realise this. We did 12k 2 laps it was so good we did it twice ! throw some mild concussion into the equation and its quite a challenge. However the comradery banter and course event organisation spur you on and ultimately it’s for such a wonderfully worthy cause as Martha Trust I would literally have crawled round if I had to ( and near the end I nearly was !!) Overall a great day and raised almost £1100 for Martha Trust !!!”
